Ever wonder what's up with all of the different Christian denominations? Maranatha is a Seventh Day Baptist congregation
... but what does that mean? Over the next four weeks we'll be drilling deeper into what it means to be a Seventh Day
Baptist Christian involved at Maranatha Community Church.
If you know someone who’s curious about Seventh Day Baptists, please tell them about this informative message series.
Or, if you too would like to learn more about what makes us unique, why not invite them to join you this Saturday?
It could be a great start to a great weekend!
Webster’s Dictionary defines a Christian as "a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ,
or in the religion based on the teaching of Jesus." While this is perhaps a good starting point,
it really falls short of communicating the biblical truth of what it means to be a Christian.
There are many different "flavors" of Christianity ... Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Nazarenes, Presbyterians, etc.
So what makes Baptists different from other denominations?
Did you know that Wikipedia, that great dispenser of Internet knowledge, lists over
70
different kinds of Baptists? Obviously, meeting together for worship on Saturday makes us fairly unique,
but the Sabbath is not the only attribute that sets us apart from other Baptists.
Okay ... Christianity is one of many religions, Baptists are one of many denominations, and Seventh Day Baptists
are one of many Baptist communities. But individual congregations can also differ widely. Come see how Maranatha
Community Church’s values, vision and mission set it apart from every other church in our area!
